PhysTEC learning assistants will be helping to educate their fellow students, gain valuable and postitive classroom experience and participate in outreach programs for the University such as PACES: Parents and Children Experience Science and Physics Force.
Qualifications
- Required qualifications: Freshman
- Preferred qualifications: At least a second semester freshman. Must have taken one of the intro physics sequences and did well in the courses.
Duties/Responsibilities
- 25% Work with a faculty member on undergraduate courses
- 50% Tutor and Mentor other students
- 25% Work with SPA and CEHD staff on preparing materials to enhance teaching and learning in the introductory courses
Learning Assistants have already been selected for the Spring 2008 semester. Applications for Fall 2008 positions will begin later this spring.
