Application Process
There are two separate applications which have to be made:
- Apply to Physics for financial support (no later than January 15, 2008. or December 15, 2007 for international applicants and fellowship candidates.)
- Apply to the Graduate School, for University admission (no later than June 15, 2008.)
Application for Financial Support from Physics
This year we are changing to an online application process. You will need to provide us with the following information:
- A statement of objectives, expertise, and publications.
- Transcripts* from one college or university attended (choose the most significant, if there is more than one) and, if applicable, one transcript from the institution where you obtained your MS degree. You will be asked to scan them and upload them on a web page separate from the application page. The URL of this page will be sent to you by Email when it is ready to accept uploading. If you have no access to a facility to scan and upload these documents, you may mail them to the Director of Graduate Studies whose address is listed below.
- Provide GRE scores if you have them (particularly advanced physics). A scanned image of the official scores will be requested through the same web page as your transcripts.
- Provide TOEFL score if your native language is not English. A scanned image of the official scores will be requested through the same web page as your transcripts.
- Indentify three people who will write letters of recommendation. We will send requests by e-mail to these people.
- No fee is required to apply to Physics for financial support.
*Informal copies of your transcripts are acceptable when applying to Physics, but the Graduate School will require official transcripts. For Graduate School admission, you will need transcripts from every college or university attended.
A decision regarding your application will be made in February or early March.

Application for Graduate School Admission
An application for Graduate School Admission will be required after acceptance by Physics and prior to enrollment. The Graduate School's deadline is June 15th, but early application is advisable especially for international applicants. A fee is required for application.
